State Semifinals: Principia Dominates, Miller Career Keeps Rolling

Friday's games are in the books. Six games, two big upsets, and a couple of dominant performances. Here's how it went down.
Biggest Upset: Miller Career Academy 75, North Platte 56
Miller Career (19-13) had no business being here on paper. They came in with 13 losses and knocked off Woodland in the district final. North Platte came in at 27-4. Didn't matter. Miller Career won by 19 and keeps their improbable run alive. Two straight upsets over teams with 25+ wins. That's a story.
Dominant Performance: Principia 70, Liberty (Mountain View) 33
Principia (27-2) dropped 106 in the district final. Friday they held Liberty (Mountain View) — a 30-3 team — to 33 points. Thirty-three. That's not just offense, that's a complete team. Principia is rolling and looks like the real deal in Class 3.
Rest of the Slate
Bunker 64, Faith Christian Academy 50 — Bunker (29-2) handles Faith Christian (25-3) by 14. Bunker has been one of the best Class 1 teams in the state all year and they looked like it.
Brunswick 73, Kingsville 54 — Brunswick (28-4) wins comfortably by 19. Kingsville (25-5) had a great season but couldn't keep up.
Eugene 64, Clopton 45 — Eugene (25-6) takes care of business against Clopton (18-13) by 19.
Hayti 75, Penney 48 — Hayti (21-6) rolls past Penney (23-8) by 27. Hayti came in as the lower seed on paper but it wasn't close.
Today's STL Games
The STL area has four teams in action today. These are the games to watch:
- Vashon vs Orchard Farm (Class 4) — All-STL. Vashon has been the area's best Class 4 team all year. Orchard Farm just won by 21 in the quarterfinals. One of them goes home.
- Clayton vs Dexter (Class 4) — Clayton's offense has been on fire all postseason. Dexter just dismantled Potosi by 35. Winner goes to the state championship.
- Vianney vs Sikeston (Class 5) — Vianney won by 20 in the district final. Sikeston came in at 27-2. Heavyweight fight.
- MICDS vs Holt (Class 5) — All-STL. MICDS should be favored, but Holt has been a tough out all postseason.
- Francis Howell Central vs De Smet Jesuit (Class 6) — The game of the round. Two of the best teams in the area. One goes home.
- Marquette vs Cardinal Ritter (Class 6) — Ritter upset SLUH and Lindbergh to get here. Marquette has been steady all year.
